After earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology, I spent several years in private security for one of the wealthiest families in the world. I was trained in physical security, crisis management, and emergency medical response by representatives from the Secret Service, FBI, ATF, Texas State Troopers, several branches of the military, and a number of other private specialists.
After getting married and having my first child, I left the world of guns and limos and mansions and private jets to become a professional geek and a family-man. I spent many years building IT solutions for small and large businesses and governments. And then helping clients rebuild them again after all kinds of horrible events, from ransomware and other digital breaches to fires, floods, and other natural disasters.
After seeing over and over how much cheaper it is to prevent a disaster than to recover from one, I side-stepped again, and now work almost exclusively helping people and organizations assess their risks and try to prevent these disasters from happening in the first place.
